Praying For The Lost
The Lord wants us to come before Him in prayer for anything we need. He desires a relationship with us, and prayer is a big part of that. And while there are many important things we talk to Him about, here’s what we are diving into today—are we praying for the lost?
Prayer is a powerful weapon we have at our disposal. No matter the challenges we may face, prayer can bring joy and a boldness to share the Gospel with those who need the peace of His salvation.
BRING THEM TO GOD
This year, already, you may have faced different challenges. We have definitely seen that in the world. While we should certainly be praying for our world and all the things we face, we need to be praying people would find healing through the power of the Gospel.
As we look forward to the summer of this year, I want to encourage you to pray for the lost that you specifically can reach with the Gospel. Maybe God will give you an opportunity to talk to a neighbor about spiritual matters at a summer barbecue or event. Maybe the Holy Spirit will prompt you to ask a friend how you can pray for them. Whatever the circumstance, seek God with lost people you have a relationship with by name, and watch Him answer. He may also use you as the catalyst for someone to hear the Gospel!
It’s so important for us to lift unbelievers up to the Lord in prayer. We should be burdened for those who don’t know Him and that should motivate us to pray and to share our faith.
TAKE THE CHALLENGE
So as the summer begins, I challenge you to dive into sharing your faith with the people God has put in your life. We want every believer to become a witness for the glory of God and to see the Great Commission fulfilled…and that starts with you! You can visit sharelife.university to take our online course that will help you get started. We want you to become a confident witness for Jesus.
1 John 5:14 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
This is great news for Christians praying for the lost because we know that it’s God’s desire for us to know Him!
LET’S PRAY
How can you best pray for the lost? Set time aside each day to do it. Pray for their hearts to be prepared to hear the Gospel and softened towards God’s Word. Look for opportunities to share what you have learned through our online course (sharelife.university) and other EE training (evangelismexplosion.org/events), and speak up!
May God richly bless you as you grow in prayer and pray for the lost all around you!
